Ered is a beautiful small Alaskan (Hooper Bay region) Yup'ik Native American-made Basket. It has two birds in green and red in a column, repeated 4 times. The designs appear to be out of raffia rather than seal gut. 4 1/4" tall to knob top and 3 1/2" across at widest point. Good vintage condition, slight fading. There is a slight sheen to parts of basket as if someone coated it with something.
They dated it to the 1950s or before. Most of the items we sell come from our collection gathered over the years from our travels, from Native powwows and craft stores, antique shops, personal collections, auctions and estate sales. Now that our kids are in college and beyond, we are letting some items go so others can enjoy them. Then I'll send you a combined invoice.
I pack carefully and try to reuse materials to save on environmental impact. I often double-box items with smaller gift boxes collected from various thrift stores. I reuse all that I receive and hope you will make use of the ones that come in your packages.
