Offered is a large Southwestern Native American Pima Basketry Bowl. This is an older basket and has an unusual wide stitch with gaps rather than the close stitch usually seen in these baskets.
It has a grass base and devil's claw design and around rim. The basket measures 7" tall by 11 1/2" wide at top. It looks to have a grass base as most Pima baskets do, but it has an interesting wide/gap stitch and it is fairly stiff. It has a beautiful design, though slightly faded.
And you can see a few places the stitches have rubbed off. Please look at all pictures. Most of the items we sell come from our personal collection gathered over the years from our travels, from Native powwows and craft stores, antique shops, auctions and estate sales. Now that our kids are in college and beyond, we are letting some items go so others can enjoy them.
Then I'll send you a combined invoice. Sorry for the expense, but I've had items lost overseas when mailing first class and don't want to take the risk of losing items.
I pack carefully and try to reuse materials to save on environmental impact. I often double-box items with smaller gift boxes collected from various thrift stores.I reuse all that I receive and hope you will make use of the ones that come in your packages.
